Search engine optimisation or SEO is the process of gaining and improving a website for Search Engine Results Pages (SERP) or organic search results on search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.
Search engines provide a service to users, therefore their focus is on user experience by listing results that are credible and relevant to searches.
Google ranks websites by relevance using a series of algorithms, that only Google knows. However, from research and testing digital marketers have identified key areas to focus SEO optimisation.
By improving SEO both onsite and offsite your business will gain more exposure. As a result, you can expect to see a boost in relevant traffic, reduced bounce rates, and increased lead conversions and potential sales.
We can improve your site’s architecture and add required tags (such as meta descriptions, SEO friendly page titles, heading tags, image alt tags, etc) to make it easier for search engines such as Google to crawl through your website to index it. Which means improved website listings and likelihood of clicks (CTR)!
In 2015 Google released a mobile-friendly ranking algorithm that priories ranking to mobile-friendly pages on Google’s mobile search results. If you website is not mobile friendly, we can help you make changes to significantly improve your website’s performance.
Google does not like duplicated content on websites. After we run our comprehensive website audit, we’ll be able to determine if your site contains any duplicate content such as; page titles, meta tags or even whole pages, then asses the best way to improve their management.
Every Second Counts! Website load time is a major contributing factor of site abandonment, with 40% of people abandoning a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load1. Furthermore, Google values user experience and wants to send browsers to the best results. So if your website is not loading in a couple of seconds, then not only have you have lost your audience’s attention, you are loosing valuable ‘SEO points’.
Fear not, we can help! We will run a website speed check and identify key areas to decrease your website speed time.
Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), provides a secure connection to users where they are sharing personal data with your website, including credit card information or passwords. To ensure that data between your web server and browsers remains private and secure, your website requires a Secure Sockets Layer certificate (SSL). Having the SSL certificate installed means data is encrypted into public and private keys, so if a hacker managed to intercept your data, they wouldn’t be able to decrypt the private key. Only the browser’s computer and the secure server can recognise the data in private keys.
The easiest ways to determine if your website is HTTPS, is to look for the padlock icon in the address bar, to the left of your URL. Alternatively select your whole URL in the address bar and copy it to a word document and see if your site has ‘https’ the ‘s’ at the end of ‘http’ will tell you if your website is secure. If your website is not already secure with HTTPS, we can install a SSL and keep this updated for you (available in our SEO maintenance packages).
Before we get started with updating your SEO performance, it is important that we have the right tracking tools correctly setup, so we can track performance and quantify results. Kat Digital uses Google Analytics to track your website performance and Google Search Console to send Google important updates about your site, as well as various other SEO software and tools to assess your website. If you don’t already have Google Analytics and/or Google Search Console setup, we assist you with getting this configured – however, you will always have ownership over this. If you sign up to a monthly SEO service, you will receive a monthly report included in your package with key metrics summarised and how we are performing against your SEO goals.
